Bio

Jef Buehler serves as the Assistant Director of the NJ Business Action Center (NJBAC) in the NJ Department of State. Jef Buehler serves as the Assistant Director of the NJ Business Action Center (NJBAC) in the NJ Department of State. Jef is currently working with Counties, municipalities, and other stakeholders to support the revision of New Jersey’s State Plan in the context of fostering NJ’s economic, place, social, and civic value. He also works with an array of business enhancement special projects, collaborating with and providing technical assistance and training in district-wide business advocacy, place-based revitalization and placemaking to municipalities and district management entities throughout New Jersey, while supporting NJBAC’s mission and goals of business growth and prosperity in our communities. Jef formerly reinvented and lead the Neighborhood Preservation Program and Main Street NJ and has worked in the place-based revitalization field for 30 years in New Jersey, Latin America, and across the US. He has served as a Board member with Downtown NJ since 2004, and won the Innovation on Main Street Award from the National Main Street Center in 2015. Jef has been a Borough Councilperson, founded and lead a downtown revitalization non-profit organization, and is currently the VP of the Frenchtown Business and Professional Association (Love Frenchtown.) He lives in Frenchtown, NJ with his family, cat, and flock of chickens.
